When The Distractions Come

As a defeated foe, you’d think the enemy would give up. We have to be just as persistent about doing God’s Work.

God’s Word tells us that we must be alert and of sober mind. Our enemy, the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8 NIV).

He will always come in speaking his native language; lies. Twisting what God said and throwing in prideful statements that please the flesh. He will try to throw you off from the work God called you to do. The distractions may come in the form of someone trying to argue with you about God’s Word, feelings of discouragement may come to flood your mind to keep you from prayer, or even complaints about all the work you do for your church and you feel taken advantage of. The enemy only wants to steal, kill, and destroy the plans of God, but we just have to do a better job at not giving him a foothold.

I speak of this because there may be someone who has let the distractions flood them. I want to encourage you to bring your issues to God. Let God renew your mind and ask Him for the discernment to test and approve what His Will is. Until next time, pray for me and I’ll pray for you.

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7 NIV
