We’re quick to preach about how we stand for Truth and Justice and we’re all so eager to want to speak “truth” into the lives of others, yet we still have a hard time learning how to properly discern and disconnect from the lies and scandalous stories that are quick to entice our ears. HOW CAN THIS BE?
I speak of this because there may be someone who has allowed false doctrine to separate them from God’s Truth. Being upset about what the Word of God says doesn’t change the truth. If it makes you upset, more than likely it’s just the Holy Spirit convicting you of your unrepentant sins. Justifying other sins will not change the sins we choose not to deal with. The gospel of Christ teaches us to not only obey God and His commands, but to repent and turn away from sins, not to be comfortable in our sins.
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
